What’s The Digital Barman All About?
The Digital Barman serves internet & digital marketing, online digital skills courses, and smart software to help you run a successful online business or create a side hustle income.
I used to serve real ale and craft beer for a living before I set up the Digital Barman. In my time as a real barman, I found that I was the go-to techie person to troubleshoot and fix problems.
When enjoying yourself in the pub, do you ever wonder how clever the bar staff are? Some are studying for degrees. Some are artists, some are classically trained musicians. Like me, some previously had a technical career, and just fancied a change.

Behind the scenes, bars are actually quite complex technical environments, so bar people are pretty smart to deal with this lot on a daily basis.

Its not exactly rocket science, but it does require skills, preparation and attention to detail. Most professional bartenders share a passion for service and attention to detail, and enjoy team camaraderie in equal measure. I will always have the greatest respect for anyone who works in the trade, and my work ethos remains the same today.

As well as doing the day job, the night shifts, or even double shifts, serving literally hundreds of thousands of customers, my reputation as a technical problem solver must have got round. Here’s just a few examples of the “commissions” I would get from customers over the bar:
